Wasco loves 'play'!
Playing is using your imagination, starting from scratch and making your own rules.
It's experimenting: ‘what happens if I do this?’ ‘what if?’
To play is to give a meaning to life.

“Nothing lights up the brain like play.”

Dr. Stuart Brown

Play is more than just fun.
It is not just joyful and energizing, it's deeply involved with human development and intelligence.
Play is best form of exercise for the brain because it is deeply involved in human development, intelligence, emotional regulation and problem solving.

A pioneer in research on play, Dr. Stuart Brown says plenty of play in childhood makes for happy, smart adults and keeping it up can make us smarter at any age. His TED TALK here

"Playing is a basic need like eating and sleeping."

Francis Alÿs

Children play to absorb the reality they encounter. Their games imitate, mock and defy the rules of the adult society that surrounds them.

Who has depicted this very beautifully and is doing beautiful anthropological work is the famous artist Francis Alÿs. (born in Belgium)
He was trained as an architect. His series Children's Games (1999-ongoing) is a collection of scenes of children playing from all over the world.
